Jambupathe in Dhrupad style

Jambupathe is a beautiful compsotion on Lord Shiva as Jambukeswarar, the presiding deity of the Jambukswarar temple in Thiruvanaikaval, in TamilNadu, India. Muthuswamy Dikshithar had composed this kirthana in the ragam Yamiuna Kalyani which is a ragam that has come into carnatic music from Hindustani music. Dr. Sreevalsan J Menon has sung this kirthana weaving a bit of Dhrupad style that brings the Hindustani flavor of the raga to the rendition. atch this rendition
